from Taxco
, Guerrero, baskets, pottery, clay and onyx figures - a virtual multitude of arts and crafts that must be seen to be
appreciated.

We offer more variety . . . at more reasonable prices than anyone in Los Tuxtlas.

All this is complimented by the coffee shop "Café Casa de Los Tesoros", where, while browsing in our shop, you may enjoy a cup of
gourmet coffee or green tea, accompanied by a selection of pastries. If you prefer, we also offer a seasonal variety of refreshing natural
fruit drinks.

Defensores del Medio Ambiente de Los Tuxtlas, A. C. (DEMATAC) maintains a branch office on our premises. They receive
complaints regarding wildlife or environmental abuses,  offer
environmental workshops and other activities related to ecological
conservation
, plus provide information to the public and accept donations and memberships.

ALEBRÍJES
(Imaginary Animals)

from
San Martin Tilcajete, Oaxaca
Onyx from Puebla & Varnished Pottery from
Oaxaca
Wood carving is an ancestral tradition of the Zapotec people of Oaxaca, and achieves maximum expression in the elaboration of wooden
figures, which only in recent years were given the name "
alebrijes"; unreal, magical figures from the imagination of the Oaxacan
craftsman, the carvings represent the innovative and surreal spirit of the soul of Oaxaca, captured in their hand-crafted, hand-painted
design. These talented carvers of Oaxaca create,  entirely by hand, wonderful sculptures made  from copal wood, whose ingenious shapes
with  amazing patterns and colors have captivated collectors world wide.
