| On July 26th, all of the incumbent and substitute counselors were invited to participate in the first reunion of the Consejo Asesor de La Reserva de la Biosfera – Los Tuxtlas. The reunion took place in the Ejido Adolfo Ruíz Cortínez. |

| For the purpose of establishing an ongoing and frequent dialog among the associated civil organizations, community groups, and citizens interested in participating in a serious and responsible manner in the construction and supervision of methods to achieve environmental conservation, ecological restoration, along with methods of provided sustainable economic growth for the residents within the zone of influence of the Reserve de la Biosphere, a reunion was organized to take place in the La Ceiba Restaurant, Catemaco, Veracruz. Assisting in the reunion were: SENDAS, Todo de Tierra, A. C., Anfitrionas y Anfitriones Ecológicos de Los Tuxtlas, A. C., DEMATAC, IVEA, La Reserva de la Biosfera – Los Tuxtlas y SERTAPSL. The reunion covered the following themes: general information about the objectives and integration of the counsel, previous reunions, elaboration of internal regulations, a work program, and linking of the various mechanisms of the OSC (Oganizacións de la Sociadad Civil), in addition to the formation of work procedures among the various sectors. |

| The swearing in ceremony took place at the Hotel La Finca Catemaco, Veracruz and was attended by the following dignitaries: Lic. Fidel Herrera Beltran, Governor of Veracruz Lic. Sergio Antonio Cadena Martínez, Municipal President of Catemaco Lic. Rafale Carrión Alvarez, Municipal President of San Andrés Tuxtla Justo Fernandez Garibay, Local State Representative Ing. Juan Garcia Sanchez, Secretary, SEDARPA. M. C. José Juan Arreola Arroyo, Sub-rector for Design y Operation of Coordination, CONAP. ____________________________ Regional artesans and associations exhibited their crafts and publicity during the ceremony. |

| Reunion for "Strengthening the Board of Advisory Consultants for the Reserva de la Biosfera - Los Tuxtlas" Hotel Playa Azul Catemaco, Veracruz |
| The reunion was held to strengthen the integration of the Board. Among the themes that were covered were: the importance of the integration of the Board, elaboration, revision, analysis, and agreement on the rules and regulations of the Board, formal incorporation of the advisors, and advances and results of MIE (Manejo Integral de Ecosistemas / Comprehensive Ecosystem Management). The meeting concluded with the election of Roberto Tovar Maldonado as Board President. |

The participants named “SENDAS, A. C." as incumbent consultant with "DEMATAC" as substitute, and “Todo de Tierra, A. C.” as incumbent with “Anfitriones y Anfitrionas Ecológicos de Los Tuxtlas” as substitute. It was agreed to organize a working session among the civil organizations to name and ratify the specific consultants and introduce a plan for internal regulations. |

| Second Session of the Advisory Counsel for the Los Tuxtlas Biosphere Reserve November 17, 2006: 9:00 a. m. The meeting, for members of the counsel, was held at the restaurant La Casita in the community of Dos de Abril, municipality of San Andrés Tuxtla. Project plans for 2007 were discussed. As a quorum of Titulares (incumbents) was not present, no vote could be taken. Steps will be taken to amend the constitution of the Counsel to permit the Suplentes (substitutes) to vote in the future. The next meeting has been scheduled for February 16th in the community Benigno Mendoza, near Tatahuicapan, Veracruz. |
